What is binary for "I'm a geek with little chance of ever playing with female genetalia!''?

Good stuff!

[off topic still] Well the number is probably at about 6! Its that car I did the physics for that drove a couple of LFSers towards rFactor, for a short flirt I suppose.

it should run without a new PSU, even if it is a poor one; the step from 6200 to 7900GS is probably less than 40Watts, and your system isn't that power hungry.. Should be fine!

However, don't expect TDU to run great; its not the most optimized game and tends to chug at times, even on far more faster hardware than you have!

I downloaded it to my D drive, installing it on my E drive, and of course I had to free up a few gigs on the C drive to make this possible..

The somewhat surprising thing is that it runs smoothly (6800GT / amd3800+) but the 'been there done that' feeling seems to remain.

But I'll probably go back to Quake3 (demo only) for my weekly 10 minutes of FPS fun..

Well we have Clarkson Hammond and May for a bit of fun / bashing / crashing / hilarity..

And Tiff for the porn on wheels..

Not too bad

Well.. Tiff raced just about anything on wheels. Not always having good material. I think he was teammate with Derek Bell in some Group C car. I'd say Tiff's career is above average and he seems to be quite naturaly talented; he'll be fast and on / above the limit (without crashing..) pretty quickly. I don't know any tv presenter that can drive like him!

The crappyness of Clarkson was quite apparent in that (admittedly poor) Volkswagen.. Ham fisted/footed ^2

Nice one Bob,

The gaming industry still thinks realism is bad, partly because of their mis interpretation of realism (tire curves that plumet; Test Drive Unlimited would actually be ok in ''hardcore'' mode otherwise).. Perhaps you can help make things drivable and sort of realistic as well..

Don't you think you'll be torn up between your desire for realism and the boss's desire to sell a quick arcade job?

I wonder how many tenths Nico would loose if the team didn't have the ''Engineer + driver" Wurz.. Nice guy, good brain, engineer, not a very very good driver..

The main issue with the current circuit is the TDF file, which specifies lots of bumps and different grip zones. I disagree with that, they have really overdid it in my opinion.

When you drive it on a ''better'' TDF file, I can get sub 20, and would probably get 8:15 if I tried many laps. WIth the default track, 8:25 is already very very very scary.

The magazine used the Z51 gearbox btw, for the last bit of accuracy I"m pretty sure I've attached the modified TDF file somewhere here in this thread..

Heya,

The acceleration is pretty accurate, within a tenth or two to 150mph. The german mag reached 253km/h on the dottinger hohe, I have reached a bit faster, depends on how late you shift / how quickly you enter the straight / how manly you feel for that lefthander..

5th gear on both the C6 and z06 are the top speed gears, 6th are pure economy cruising gears.

Ok I realize this is girly but I guess the colour of my T shirt avatar gets to me..

There was an episode of Ally mcBeal where they had a court case of some kid sueing God.

Anyone seen that?

tada..

it uses the normal terrain.tdf which I've edited to get rid of the sine wave bumps though.

Healthy dose of dutch cockyness / self overestimating.. They tend to forget its been a few hundred years since we sailed the oceans and where actually really good at something (being nasty mostly..)

Actually I hadn't touched rFactor for more than a week, but I now have more realistic tire data that i more or less copy/pasted in, despite the issues with the tire model.. I'm just going to use real numbers and forward people who dislike it to ISI..

The car is still fairly good to drive, 505hp is nice.

a really crap job of editing, but some shots of the z06 physics... Work in Progress..

Anyone who hasn't done so, play FarCry .. in 'realistic' difficulty level..

In private messaging. They combine it very logically and mathematically its not wrong, just that it, with current knowledge, doesn't really match what happens in actual rubber very well..

The most important thing is that they know it and plan to improve it..

I've not been that interested in rFactor after they basically said the force combining is not realistic. There is little point in trying to achieve 'very good realism', until the physics model changes, 'fairly convincing' is about as good as it can get.

I do wonder why your M3 falls over so easily with realistic ish centre of gravity heights of ~50cm.. Very odd!
